reality setting in... i signed up to go back to school.

reality is setting in. in 1 week i will have my last day at Y&R. in a week and a half, i am setting out on my road trip to richmond, va. in 3, i'll be sitting in class, realizing that i signed up to go back to school.

i have so much to do over the next week and a half and i'm having trouble prioritizing. there are a million people i want to see and things i feel compelled to do. i am spending a lot of time with fam bam and the lady. enjoying the food, sights and sound.

i got my class schedule earlier this week. looking forward to all my classes and stoked that i have one with Mark "the man, the myth, the legend" Fenske.

can't wait to meet '09, not to mention my new roommate, Oakie. our apartment is HUGE and they allow pets! i am thinking about getting a dog (if my time allows) which leads me to the most important question of the day...

Boston Terrier, Jack Russel or French Bulldog?

=================

in ad news, i met with a rep from P.S. 260 today (amazing flash site, and i usually dont like flash sites). they are a well known and respected editing house in nyc. we chatted and reviewed their work. one piece in particular that caught my attention was the work of famed Droga 5 for marc echo. it looks like i am late on the band wagon for this one, as it has already been covered by Room 116 and many others, but regardless i was stunned by the innovation behind the strategy of this viral release, the fuckin unbeatable concept and the authenticity of the creative.

i am so late on this one, but for the full article click here.

eggplant creative - adcenter '09

hi all, so here it is, my adcenter '09 blog.

my name it kyle. i am from the bay area. i am 27. i am starting at vcu adcenter in the art direction track in about 1 month.

i knew i wanted to start an ad blog to chronicle my 60 weeks at vcu adcenter, but wasn't truly inspired until reading an entry from a future classmate's ad blog. i won't get too into it, but thanks to her, i won't have to sneak my cocaine and serial killer paraphernalia across state lines. suffice to say, it was inspiring enough for me to title my blog after...

finding just the right title was hard enough, but i haven't thought through exactly how i plan on using this blog, so expect a lot of format changes until i get it right. i would love to post a video blog to supplement my written, but for that kind of awesome sauce, i have a bit of planning ahead of me. for now, i'm thinking written postings will do.

thanks for reading, i hope you enjoy it. i will try my best to make my postings short and sweet.
