new hobby needed.
so i haven't blogged in a while. but i'd say this is actually a good thing for me because it probably means that i am not in front of my computer with as much idle time as usual. *ok, so that is complete bullshit... i am in front of my computer most of the day, but you get the idea.
as for an update. life is good. school is interesting. love life is complicated. doing some freelance, which is nice because it puts some extra money in my pocket. which leads me to my blog title.
.::I WANT A DIGITAL SLR::.
i'm thinking this summer will be a good time to do two things.
1. learn flash or at least get a basic knowledge of its capabilities
2. drop a G on a canon 40D and explore life through a lens

the brand opening festivus
yesterday was the official brandcenter grand opening day and i must say, it wasnt too shabby.
the prestigious board of directors flew in for the festivities. i dont think i've ever been in a room filled with so many advertising dignitaries in my life (future leaders included). we were lucky enough to have small group discussion sessions with them.
my group was led by Ty Montegue; JWT, Andrew Jaffe; Company Consulting, Paul Lavoie; TAXI, Earl Cox; The Martin Agency, and a funny aussie- Nick Law from R/GA... an amazing interactive shop out of NYC. one that i would shave the tip of my left pinkie to work for.
they had a ton of inspiring things to say from the future of advertising to their thoughts on the ad school phenomenon. they all have a great sense of humor about themselves and one another. it is reassuring to know that they are just regular people.
i think i take it for granted how lucky i am to be here.
